2010 Que Saudade Verdelho Jeroboam
2010 'Que Saudade' Verdelho, DeWitt Vineyard Amador County
With the 2010 vintage of Que Saudade from DeWitt vineyard planted in volcanic, quartzite, and clay elements at 1300’ elevation.
Each vineyard site was hand-picked and whole cluster pressed; fermentation was undertaken with ambient yeast in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak vessels of various sizes (227L barrique, 400L hogsheads, and 500L puncheons). The wine was racked off of its lees at 6 months, and saw a total of 14 months elevage. Bottled unfined and unfiltered. As with all Forlorn Hope wines, nothing was added to the must or wine (no cultured yeast, ML bacteria, water, tartaric acid, enzymes, nutrients, etc) with the exception of minimal effective SO2.
